Cost: $17 (Also available for loan at no cost from the office.) They're talking layoffs at work, slowdowns in the economy, flare-ups in the Middle East, turnovers at headquarters, downturns in the housing market, upswings in global warming. The plague of our day, terrorism, begins with the word terror. Fear, it seems, has taken up a hundred-year lease on the building next door and set up shop. Oversized and rude, fear herds us into a prison and slams the doors. Wouldn't it be great to walk out? Imagine your life, wholly untouched by angst. What if faith, not fear, was your default reaction to threats? If you could hover a fear magnet over your heart and extract every last shaving of dread, insecurity, and doubt, what would remain? Envision a day, just one day, when you could trust more and fear less. Can you imagine your life without fear? Max is the only author to have won three Christian Book of the Year* awardsin 1999 for Just Like Jesus, in 1997 for In the Grip of Grace, and in 1995 for When God Whispers Your Name. In 2005, Reader's Digest magazine dubbed him 'America's Best Preacher' and in 2004, Christianity Today magazine called him 'America's Pastor.' The product line for 3:16The Numbers of Hope sold more than four million units worldwide, including one million units of the cornerstone trade book of the same title (released in September 2007), making it the fastest selling Lucado product in his career. His works have appeared on every major national bestseller list including Publishers Weekly, USA Today, The New York Times, Evangelical Christian Publishers Association, and Christian Booksellers Association. He has been featured in countless media outlets and national broadcasts. Max's writings have been published in a wide array of formats including adult books, gift books, children's titles, Bibles, commentaries, calendars and devotionals. He is also the author/creator of 'Max Lucado's Hermie & Friends' brand family, one of the most popular animated DVD series in the marketplace, with more than 5 million units sold to date. LABC VBS Report 2010 Our VBS was a great success! We doubled the number of children attending from last year, many of them from neighborhoods nearby who had never visited LABC before. Ernie Baird |
| Dear Lexington Avenue Baptist Church; Thank you so much for your generous gift of $687.50. All of us at Boyle County Habitat for Humanity want your congregation to know how very much we appreciate your support. You join us in extending a 'hand up,' not a 'hand out,' as we strive to provide decent housing for many of God's children. Again, thank you. We are truly grateful. Sincerely, Connie R. Mason Office Manager |

Vacation Bible School 2010 was wonderful!! Thanks to all who helped to make it a meaningful experience for the children and their families. Everyone had a great time. I was excited to see many new faces and new families in our VBS. That's why VBS is such a good outreach tool for the church. It's our way to share God's love with one another and with our community. That's really what we are all about as a church. Sharing God's love. In all that we do, in all that we say, let us have as our motivation the desire to share God's love. John 3:16 records that the reason God sent Jesus was because of his love for you and for me. Let's make sharing God's love a priority for us here at LABC. How can we share God's love? Let me share a few thoughts. *Invite your friend to Sunday School and worship. And that's just the beginning. Let's make the commitment and be the church that shares God's love! With great expectations, |
